My father loved to draw…I think I got that from him. In fact, I got a good deal of my artistic bent from him. Although, I have to say my mother was/is equally creative. Her first career, before she became a full-time mom, was professional ballet dancer.
This is a picture my father drew of me in my studio on my 30th birthday. He often drew personal greeting or birthday cards for people that mattered to him.
This will give you some idea of how long ago I became addicted to recording. It’s been 30 years now since I sang my first jingle for “Molson Export.” It’s ironic, but I’ve never particularity liked the taste of beer. My Dad, on the other hand was a fanatic. That’s something I didn’t get from him.
When I look at this drawing, I know just how lucky I was in the “parents department.” They gave me something strong to stand on. We don’t get to pick our parents, but I got-to-tell-ya…I lucked-out BIG TIME!
I love you Dad. Not a day goes bye…
